Supporting an Abundant Pregnancy and Postpartum Recovery

At Birthing Abundantly Maternal Services, we provide:

Evidence based lactation consulting and full spectrum doula services where we focus on mamas experiencing high risk births and postpartum recovery.

We fully support the BIPOC, BIWOC, and LGBTQ community.

After having two children prematurely and experiencing disparity and the lack of adequate support in the medical system, Desiree Cameron was encouraged to be an advocate for women, especially women of color. This includes offering some light and devising an action plan to meet women at their point of need pre birth and postpartum. She is a self-love advocate reminding mothers to know their birth matters, recognize their power, and embrace their motherhood journey confidently.

BA Maternal provides support for women going through the process of:

  • Freezing eggs

  • IVF

  • Pregnancy loss

  • NICU cases

  • High risk cases that lead to C-section.

Serving Metro Detroit for in person services, and virtually for Chicago, NYC, and CT residents.

About Desiree Cameron

In the past 3 years, I've worked with local organizations in Detroit and NY teaching about the basics of c-sections and recovery, and the need for doulas as part of the birth plan. I've also worked with Detroit Mama Bloom in supporting mother's through their postpartum journey.

Being a mother of two beautiful girls, both born at 29 weeks through emergency c section, dealing with delayed breastfeeding, having them both in the NICU for 3 months, and working with a postpartum therapist has definitely heightened my experience as a full spectrum doula.

“HAVING A DOULA SHIFTED MY HIGH-RISK PREGNANCY EXPERIENCE FROM BEING OVERWHELMINGLY TOUGH, TO BEING A BATTLE I WAS BUILT FOR.

I had the pleasure of having a birth doula who constantly told me that I was doing a great job, made sure that I was loving on myself and reminded me of the amazing work that my body did”
